Then, our FAQs section will include things to try if Split View isn’t working.
Cmd+Alt+← = 1/2 vertical left side of the screenĬmd+Alt+→ = 1/2 vertical right side of the screenĬmd+Alt+↑ = Maximize - Fills the whole screen.Ĭmd+Alt+↓ = Move to the next screen (Moom can retain the last position/size, which is nice, especially if your screens have different resolutions). In this article, we’ll show you how to use Split View on macOS and iPad OS.I tend to always set these as my basic shortcuts: I do understand that some people might want to would want to use it. Better to just use shortcuts or dragging or what ever.
These always sound cool at first, but I'm not going to leave a phone screen open for a full day at work, you kidding me? And if I have to then open the phone/app to do window management on mac.
If dragging windows is your thing, Mosaic is definitely the go to app.
I tend to just have my shortcuts close to each other so I can quickly do different things, like for example: first shortcut to move the window to a different screen and then second shortcut to position it to the right 1/2 or something. To be honest I haven't really had a need to use this. If you give multiple "actions" the same shortcut, they become chained. Then you can you can "restore" that layout via shortcut or from a context menu. Which basically means that you save the position of specific windows. It works by selecting the area you desire to fill in the screen by using a grid. You can for example drag a window to the left side of your screen and drop it to resize it to the left half of the screen. Snap to screen edges (kinda like in Windows).
Hover over the green plus to get a context menu with the custom positions, layouts and the resize grid.
